Welcome to Mind Up Counseling – Counseling for the Mind, Body, and Soul

At Mind Up Counseling, healing begins from within, where mind, body, and soul align to support a more peaceful, fulfilling life. I’m Soula Zaharopoulos, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LISW-CP) in South Carolina with over 25 years of experience helping individuals manage stress, life transitions, caregiving challenges, grief, anxiety, depression, and emotional imbalances.

Life can feel overwhelming—especially when you're juggling multiple roles, experiencing burnout, or adjusting to major changes like divorce, loss, or aging. I provide a safe, supportive space where we can work together through counseling to restore clarity, build resilience, and support your well-being.

A Holistic Counseling Approach Rooted in Tradition and Science

Inspired by my Greek heritage—where psyche (ψυχή) means “soul” and is the essence of psychology—I use an integrative, mind-body-soul approach to counseling. This method supports clients in exploring emotional patterns, reconnecting with their purpose, and feeling grounded and empowered.

My Clinical Experience

Over the years, I’ve supported individuals and families in a variety of settings:

  • State Psychiatric Hospital – Crisis intervention and long-term care

  • Community Mental Health Center – Assessment, triage, and connection to services

  • Private Practice – Ongoing, personalized support for anxiety, depression, and transitions

  • Hospice Care – Emotional support for grief, caregiving, and end-of-life challenges

These experiences shaped my compassionate, client-centered care style today.

Therapeutic Modalities I Use

I draw from evidence-based therapies, such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — To help shift unhelpful thought patterns

  • Mindfulness — To reduce stress and increase present-moment awareness

  • Strength-Based Therapy — To build resilience through your innate strengths

  • Client-Centered Therapy — To tailor treatment to your pace, goals, and values

Together, we’ll create a safe, supportive space for meaningful progress toward your mental and emotional health goals.
